Doubloon Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Geometry Lab L.L.C-FZ ("Geometry", "we") for your use of the Doubloon app and its services ("Doubloon"). By using Doubloon you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.

What Doubloon is

Doubloon identifies coins, bullion and gold or silver jewelry from your photos and shows estimated values: melt value (the metal content at a recent spot price) and, for coins, collector value ranges built from public sales, listings and price guides. It keeps a vault of items you add and values it at current metal prices.

Estimates, not appraisals or advice

• Every value in Doubloon is an estimate shown with its source and date. It is not an appraisal, an authentication, a grade, an offer to buy or sell, or a guarantee of what anyone will pay.
• Identification from photos can be wrong. Check the year, mint mark, hallmark and other details against the item, and correct them in the app.
• Melt value is calculated from catalog specifications or the hallmark and weight you confirm, multiplied by a spot price that may be delayed. Dealer, refiner and pawn prices differ from spot.
• Collector ranges reflect the sources listed with them at the time they were gathered. Condition, authenticity, demand and the place of sale change what an item sells for.
• "Check for" guidance describes how to look for known key dates and varieties. It does not mean your item is one. A professional grading service can authenticate a coin.
• Doubloon does not provide investment, financial, tax or legal advice. Do not treat any value, price, chart or alert as a recommendation to buy, sell or hold.

Your account

You can use Doubloon without an account. If you create one with Apple, Google or an email code, keep your device and sign-in methods secure and do not use another person's account. You can add or remove sign-in methods as long as one remains. You are responsible for the information you add to your vault.

Doubloon is intended for adults. Do not use it if you are under 18.

Doubloon Pro and billing

• Doubloon Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. The plans, prices, billing periods and any free trial are shown before you purchase.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends. A subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app or your Doubloon account does not cancel it.
• A free trial is available once per Apple Account. If you subscribe during a trial, the unused part of the trial ends.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• The free plan includes a limited number of scans and vault items, as described in the app. We count free scans per device and per account.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Doubloon. In particular, do not probe, bypass or overload its security or limits, scrape or resell its data, automate requests outside the app, upload unlawful material or photos of other people, or use Doubloon to deceive others about the identity or value of an item.

Third-party services and links

Doubloon links to third-party websites, including eBay's sold listings and the sources cited with collector estimates, and relies on third-party providers for metal prices and identification. We do not control those websites or their content and are not responsible for them.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue features when needed for security, law, provider changes or the operation of the product. We aim to keep export and deletion available for account data. We may update these terms; the effective date above identifies the current version, and continued use after an update means you accept it.

Intellectual property

Doubloon, its design, software, catalog and original content belong to Geometry or its licensors. You keep ownership of the photos and notes you add and give us the limited permission needed to process them to provide the features you use.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Doubloon is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any identification or value is accurate or complete. You are responsible for decisions you make about buying, selling, insuring or keeping any item. To the extent the law allows, Geometry is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for losses arising from a sale, purchase or decision based on a value shown in Doubloon, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Doubloon Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit or your rights as a consumer.

Ending use

You can stop using Doubloon at any time, cancel your subscription through your Apple Account, delete your data on the device and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or end access for material misuse, fraud, security risk or legal necessity.

Apple

These terms are between you and Geometry, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Doubloon or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to Doubloon. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to Geometry Lab L.L.C-FZ in the United Arab Emirates, subject to the mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live. Contact support@getdoubloon.app.
